A Poem for the Season

We've cooked our great big turkey.  We've sung our fa la la's.

You can bet when all the guests are gone, mom's are taking off their bras.

The stockings are no longer hung. They're empty and alone.

The whoops and all the hollers mean that grandma's on the phone!

All the opened presents are now strewn across the floor.

And every single one of us would like to get one more.

Now it’s time for everyone to bid a fond farewell.

As friends and family all load up and return to where they dwell.

That's one more Christmas season we can call a wrap.

Now to settle down for that much needed winter's nap.
